26th National Tournament 2082 The 26th National Tournament 2082 stands as a landmark event in the Nepalese pigeon-keeping calendar, organized by the Nepal Pigeon Flying Sports Association.
This edition of the national competition featured a highly structured format, moving from intense group stages into a prestigious "Super Six" final round. Tournament Structure & Highlights Group Phase (Samuha): The competition began with multiple qualifying groups (including Groups Ka through Cha). Participants from key regions such as Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, Lalitpur, Thimi, and Banepa competed across various dates in Baishak and Jestha 2082 BS. 
The Super Six: The top-performing fanciers from the group stages advanced to the final "Super Six" rounds. This final phase consisted of two major flight days—the First Super Six (held on Jestha 10) and the Second Super Six (held on Jestha 13)—to determine the ultimate national rankings. Performance Metrics: Rankings were calculated based on cumulative flight scores (hours and minutes). 
The tournament showcased exceptional endurance, with top entries recording combined flight times exceeding 50 hours across the final stages. 
Outstanding Pigeon (Utkrist Parewa): Beyond the overall loft rankings, the tournament specifically recognized individual bird performance. The "Best Pigeon" of the tournament was honored for achieving a remarkable single-flight duration of 11 hours and 38 minutes. 
Official Oversight: Every flight was strictly monitored and verified by the association to ensure technical accuracy and sportsmanship, culminating in the publication of the final official results. The 2008 Nepal Pigeon Keeper’s Association (NPKA) tournament was held across multiple dates from late April to mid-May 2008 (Baishak–Jestha 2065), featuring participants from Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and surrounding areas. The competition followed a structured multi-day format where pigeon fanciers recorded flight times of their birds under regulated conditions. A large number of participants competed across several rounds, with scores recorded based on flight duration. Some entries were marked as “RE” (likely rule-exit/disqualification), and a few participants withdrew from the tournament. Winners 1st Place: Mahendra Karmacharya – 17 hrs 38 mins 2nd Place: Nabin Sharma – 17 hrs 17 mins 3rd Place: Sanjeev Kapoor Shrestha – 17 hrs 16 mins Best Pigeon Kasni Male – 6 hrs 5 mins Notable Details The tournament included multiple competition days, each with its own participant list and results. Participants came from key pigeon-keeping hubs like Thamel, Bafal, Kalimati, Bhaktapur, and Lalitpur. Some competitors achieved significantly long flight durations exceeding 15 hours, indicating high-performance birds. A few participants recorded zero scores, suggesting unsuccessful or invalid flights. Four participants withdrew from the tournament. Chief Judge Jitendra R. Bajracharya, a founding member of NPKA, served as Chief Judge. He played a key role in developing the pigeon-keeping community in Nepal and was also the webmaster and media spokesperson for the association.

Tournament was organized 3 days and there were 14 Pigeon Keepers took part in the tourney and 3 participant withdraw their participantion. There were altogether 18 Judges who have conducted the tourney and the Chief judge was Gopal Singh who fortunately was also the winner of the tournament.

The first Nepal Pigeon Flying Tournament 2057 (2000) was held from Kartik 5 - 8. There were 16 participant from three major cities of Kathmandu. Winner was given trophy, certificates and cash prize of 5 thousand. Likewise, Best Pigeon of the Tournament was also give trophy, certificate and wash prize of 3 thousand.
